Facebook told BuzzFeed the photo was “mistakenly removed” and reinstated it on Kanwar Anit Singh Saini’s fan page, but not before his account was suspended for 12 hours.

By Monday, the photo had received over 1000 likes and more than 80 shares on Saini's fan page. It also sparked a heated debate on LGBT rights and Sikhism. Some posted vitriolic comments about Saini's picture.
