TV Ratings: ‘Criminal Minds’ Surges on CBS, ‘Modern Family’ Mostly Steady

CBS took a victory among adults 18-49 (2.4 rating) and total viewers (10.6 million) on Wednesday night, seeing particularly strong growth for Criminal Minds. The procedural pulled in 11.62 million viewers and rose four-tenths of a point for a 2.7 rating in the demo. Survivor (2.4 adults) was off a tenth of a point from the prior week, and CSI (1.9 adults) improved by the same measure.

The Middle (2.3 adults) and doomed comedy Back in the Game (1.8 adults) were both up by a tenth of a point from their last originals, while Modern Family (3.8 adults) dropped just a tenth from its last new outing on Oct. 23. Super Fun Night (2.1 adults) improved four-tenths of a point with its original lead-in, and Nashville (1.5 adults) was up by a tenth of a point as well. ABC earned a 2.2 rating with adults 18-49 and 7.1 million viewers for the night.

Rebounding from last week's lows, The X Factor pulled in a 1.7 rating with adults 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers on Fox. That's a two-tenths of a point improvement, in the demo, from last Wednesday.

Revolution, still steady at a 1.4 adults 18-49, led into Law & Order: SVU (1.6 adults, up a tenth) and an even Dateline (1.1 adults) on NBC. The network pulled a 1.4 rating with adults 18-49 and 5.4 million viewers.

Arrow (1.1 adults) grew by one-tenth of a point on the CW, while The Tomorrow People (0.6 adults) continued to hold. The network posted a 0.9 rating with adults 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers for the night.
