Taylor Swift opened up about her fans while addressing the media backstage after her big night at the CMA Awards on Wednesday, saying that their kindness sets them apart from other fan bases.
“Sometimes fan groups have a reputation for being bullies or aggressive or rude to other artists,” said the singer.
She continued, “I feel so proud that my fans are always nice to other fans, and they’re always nice to each other, and they don’t really say hateful things or say they’re going to set people on fire.”
Swift talked about how she’ll secretly watch her fans leave her shows with their signs and homemade shirts, and sometimes also stalks her fans’ Twitter pages.
“It sounds really creepy,” she admits.
