Hope Davis, Justin Kirk Board Fox’s ‘Wayward Pines’ (Exclusive)

Fox's Wayward Pines is adding two recurring players to its ranks.

In Treatment's Hope Davis and Weeds alum Justin Kirk have boarded the Fox event series from Chad Hodge and M. Night Shyamalan, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The 10-episode drama is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Blake Crouch and is described as a thriller in the vein of Twin Peaks. The project revolves around Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon), a Secret Service agent who arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, Idaho, on a mission to find two missing federal agents. But instead of answers, Ethan's investigation only provokes more questions. Each step closer to the truth takes Ethan further from the life he knew, from the husband and father he was, until he must face the terrifying reality that he may never get out of Wayward Pines alive.

Davis will play Megan Fisher, a teacher at Wayward Pines Academy, while Kirk will portray Peter McCall, an unassuming Realtor in Wayward Pines. Both will appear in multiple-episode arcs.

They join a cast that includes Terrence HowardHarry Potter's Toby JonesMelissa LeoCarla Gugino and Shannyn Sossamon.

Davis' credits include God of Carnage, The Newsroom, The Special Relationship and Infamous. She's repped by UTA and Kipperman Management. Kirk, who has a role in FX's Tyrant, is repped by UTA and Management 360.

The Playboy Club's Hodge created the series and penned the script. Shyamalan, Hodge, Donald De Line and Ashwin Rajan are on board to executive produce the FX Productions effort. HOdge wrote and Shyamalan directed the premiere episode. Fox landed the project, based on a spec from Hodge, after a competitive bidding situation. Fox will bow the 10-episode drama in 2014.
