FBI Drama From ’24’ Alum Gets Script-to-Series Commitment at CW

The CW is poised to infiltrate the Irish Mob.

The network is teaming with 24 alum Matt Michnovetz for The Cover, an FBI drama about the Irish Mob, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The project has received a script-to-series commitment from the network. If the network likes the script, it will bypass the traditional pilot stage and go straight to series.

STORY: Why TV Networks Are Bypassing Pilots for Direct-to-Series Orders

The drama revolves around a handsome young FBI agent who goes undercover in Boston with orders to infiltrate the Irish Mob. Along the way, he develops a relationship with a local girl who has a secret of her own. Soon, he doesn't know who to trust as the investigation goes sideways.

Michnovetz, who served as staff writer and story editor on Fox's 24, will pen the script. eOne topper John Morayniss and Michael Rosenberg will executive produce alongside Steven Marrs of Out East Entertainment. The deal was packaged by Alex Hertzberg and Sam Sokolow.

The Cover extends The CW's relationship with eOne, who is behind the youth-skewing network's upcoming Canadian comedy acquisition Seed. eOne previously produced Canadian import L.A. Complex, which aired for two seasons on The CW.

Michnovetz's credits also include Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He's repped by Hertzberg at Hertzberg Media.
