Britney Spears Documentary to Air on E!

Britney Spears is getting her own documentary.

E! will air a 90-minute TV special, I Am Britney Jean, on Sunday, Dec. 22 at 8 p.m., chronicling the next chapter of the singer's career as she preps for her two-year Las Vegas residency. The cable network will air an encore immediately following the premiere at 9:30 p.m.

According to E!, I Am Britney Jean will offer "an intimate look at one of the most overexposed yet under-revealed stars of today as she faces one of her biggest challenges ever while finishing her album, shooting videos, doing press -- and being a mom."

The doc picks up as Spears finishes writing and recording her album and will feature the pop superstar discussing her personal and professional life in what E! says are "her most candid and revealing interviews ever."

I Am Britney Jean airs just five days before Spears' Britney: Piece of Me two-year residency kicks off at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on Dec. 27.

Spears' upcoming eighth studio album, Britney Jean, hits stores Dec. 3, with rehearsals beginning a week later in Vegas.

World of Wonder (RuPaul's Drag Race, Million Dollar Listing) is producing the doc, which is directed by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato (Becoming Chaz, In Vogue: The Editor's Eye).

The news comes after Spears tweeted the track listing for the 10-song Britney Jean, which features collaborations with younger sister Jamie Lynn, T.I. and will.i.am. There will be four additional tracks on the deluxe edition. Last month, Spears released the music video for first single "Work Bitch."
