Anne Heche is reteaming with Hung co-creator Colette Burson.
The duo has sold a single-camera comedy to NBC as a potential starring vehicle for the Save Me actress, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The untitled comedy, which received a script commitment from the network, centers on beauty department sales manager Poppy Blake, 43, who questions everything about love and relationships. With the help of her hilariously opinionated sister Chelsea, her romantically deprived co-workers and an array of department store clients, Poppy turns a comic yet anthropological eye on what love and sex really mean for women.
Heche and Burson will co-write the comedy, with the former producing the project via her first-look deal with studio Universal Television. The pact, which she inked in July, includes an acting component. For Burson, who is under an overall deal with Fox 21, the untitled comedy marks her first half-hour network sale.
The comedy marks Burson's latest project since she co-created HBO's Thomas Jane and Heche starrer Hung, which ran for three seasons from 2009-11. With Hung co-creator Dmitry Lipkin, Burson also is prepping supernatural thriller Sleep No More at Showtime via Fox 21, where the duo are based. Burson (The Riches) is repped by UTA and Gang Tyre.
The comedy would bring Heche back to the NBC fold following her guest gig on rookie comedy The Michael J. Fox Show and her starring role on Save Me, which was canceled after one season on the network. She's repped by UTA, Untitled Entertainment and Morris Yorn.
