Alec Baldwin is asking the public to keep his MSNBC show alive in the wake of several violent and homophobic incidents with the paparazzi over the course of the last two days.
On Friday night, the network announced it was suspending “Up Late with Alec Baldwin” for the next two weeks after the star allegedly called a photographer a “c**ksucking f*g” on Thursday, and had three more separate altercations with the media the following day.
Now, Baldwin is pleading with the public not to let his personal drama result in the cancellation of his program.
The “30 Rock” star wrote in a piece on his Huffington Post blog on Saturday, “Whether the show comes back at all is at issue right now.”
Baldwin said it’s “heartbreaking” the show has been suspended, and lamented all the hard work put into the two unaired episodes that will now go to waste.
He went on to plead with readers, “Don’t allow my problem to be MSNBC’s problem. They are good people who work hard at a job, just like many of you.”
