With two more premieres on Wednesday, ABC had the night's biggest launch with Super Fun Night. The Rebel Wilson vehicle averaged a 3.2 rating with adults 18-49 in Fast National returns, boasting the network's strongest premiere retention from a Modern Family lead-in (an even 4.2 adults) in four years. Modern Family did inch into the 9:30 p.m. half-hour by a minute, so final returns could see Super Fun Night's score adjusted.

At the top of the night, The Middle (2.2 adults) shed three-tenths of a point, while Back in the Game (1.8 adults) dropped four-tenths. Nashville (1.9 adults) was steady with its premiere, off just a tenth. The network tied CBS for the night with adults 18-49, averaging a 2.5 rating and pulling in 7.6 million viewers.
Survivor earned a 2.6 rating with adults 18-49 on CBS, up two-tenths of a point from last week. Criminal Minds (2.7 adults) shed just a tenth from its premiere, while CSI (2.1 adults) moved up by a tenth. The network topped in total viewers with 10.2 million.
Fox saw a steady night for The X Factor. Averaging a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49 and 7.6 million viewers across two hours, the episode was only off a tenth of a point from last week.
Revolution (1.5 adults) dipped during its second night out in the 8 p.m. hour, down three-tenths of a point. Law & Order: SVU (2.0 adults) took an expected fall from its two-hour opener, losing seven-tenths of a point. At 10 p.m., new drama Ironside (1.4 adults) opened rather softly -- half of a point shy of Chicago Fire's time slot launch last year. NBC took a 1.6 adults rating and 6.3 million viewers for the night.
An Arrow recap special and Whose Line? repeats brought a 0.5 adults rating and 1.5 million viewers to the CW.
