TV Ratings: ‘Ironside’ and ‘Super Fun Night’ Slip, ‘Arrow’ Softer in Return

ABC comedy Super Fun Night lost a bit of steam in its second outing, dropping 22 percent (seven-tenths of a point) among adults 18-49 to a 2.5 rating. The show had a softer lead-in from Modern Family (3.8 adults), off four tenths of a point from last week, but also had smaller retention. Nashville (1.7 adults) shed two-tenths of a point at 10 p.m. -- while The Middle (2.2 adults) and Back in the Game (1.7 adults) were down one- and two-tenths of a point, respectively, at the top of the night. ABC averaged 7.2 million viewers for the night and a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49.

Topping in total viewers (9.7 million) and sharing the demo win with ABC, CBS kicked off the night with a dipping Survivor (2.4 adults), off three-tenths of a point from last week. A stable Criminal Minds (2.6 adults) only dropped one tenth of a point at 9 p.m., before CSI (1.9 adults) topped the last hour of primetime -- down two-tenths of a point from last week.

The X Factor, dropping two-tenths of a point from last week's two-hour episode, averaged a 2.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 7.1 million viewers.

Revolution (1.5 adults) matched the previous week's early returns, down just a tenth of a point from the finals. Law & Order: SVU (1.6 adults) fell again at 9 p.m., shedding four-tenths of a point from last week. Freshman Ironside (1.1 adults) lost a precious two-tenths of a point from last week's soft premiere, giving NBC an average 1.4 adults rating and 5.6 million viewers for the night.

Over on the CW, Arrow (0.9 adults) did not match last year's strong premiere. The drama was off four-tenths of a point in its sophomore return. Network sibling The Vampire Diaries was in a similar situation last week, but saw significant bump in Live+Three Day ratings. Freshman The Tomorrow People matched last year's Supernatural premiere in the time slot, posting a 0.8 rating with adults 18-49. The network pulled a 0.9 adults rating and 2.5 million viewers for the night.
