LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Jamie FoxxJamie Foxx may soon be practicing Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic “I have a dream” speech.
The actor is in talks to play the civil rights pioneer in an upcoming biopic from Dreamworks and Warner Bros., according to The Wrap.
Oliver Stone, who worked with Foxx in 1999’s “Any Given Sunday,” is reportedly in negotiations to direct the project, the website reported.

Steven Spielberg (among others) will produce the film and, according to the website, members of MLK’s family will serve as executive producers.
Kario Salem (“The Score”) penned the current version of the screenplay, while Ronald Harwood (“The Diving Bell and the Butterfly,” “The Pianist”) wrote a previous draft.

Foxx, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ray Charles in “Ray,” will next be seen on the big screen as Electro in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” – in theaters on May 2, 2014.
