IFC said Monday that it has picked up Scott Aukerman's Comedy Bang! Bang! for a third season.
The network has ordered 20 half-hour episodes of the comedy-variety series, which are scheduled to air in two 10-episode installments next year.
"They say the best things come in threes: celebrity deaths, Hobbit movies and now, seasons of Comedy Bang! Bang!" Aukerman said in a statement.

Added IFC president and general manager Jennifer Caserta: "For two great seasons, Scott has brought some of the biggest names in entertainment to the Comedy Bang! Bang! couch and delivered a truly unique, funny and entertaining experience to IFC viewers. We can't wait for another season of a show that fits IFC's comedic sensibility so well."
Comedy Bang! Bang! is touted as a late-night show with a twist; it features untraditional celebrity interviews and comedy sketches, and each celebrity appearance is blended with filmed shorts, random character cameos and spoofs.
Season two guests included Jessica Alba, Aziz Ansari, David Cross, Jim Gaffigan, Zach Galifianakis, Bill Hader, Pee-wee Herman, Gillian Jacobs, Rashida Jones, Anna Kendrick, Andy Richter, Zoe Saldana, Andy Samberg, Jason Schwartzman, Sarah Silverman, Cobie Smulders and Casey Wilson.
Comedy Bang! Bang! is produced for IFC by Abso Lutely Productions; Aukerman and Dave Kneebone serve as executive producers.
