The Esquire network is turning to its own pages for inspiration.
The newly launched men's lifestyle network has greenlighted two original specials, Women We Love and Best Bars In America, based on the magazine’s corresponding franchises. The announcement comes two weeks after the NBCUniversal cable net launched with a special tied to the magazine's 80th anniversary.

Women We Love springs from the popular monthly print feature and coincides with the annual “Sexiest Woman Alive” November issue. During the hour-long special, “impressive” and “alluring” women from entertainment, sports and pop culture will share their thoughts on work, travel, fashion, humor and relationships. Produced by Wilshire Studios with Jennifer Lane as executive producer, it will hit the air Tuesday, Nov. 19.
For its part, the tentatively titled Best Bars In America will follow two friends and comedians Jay Larson and Sean Patton as they explore bars featured in Esquire magazine’s annual rundown of the best in the country. From neighborhood dives to swanky bars, the duo will have the Esquire cameras follow them to happy hours in Milwaukee, Chicago and San Francisco. The one-hour special, produced by Magical Elves and executive producers Dan Cutforth and Jane Liptiz, will premiere this December.

“Both [specials] are perfect examples of how our partnership with Esquire offers the opportunity to extend some of their most popular features on air in ways that are really engaging and compelling,” said Matt Hanna, head of original programming at the network, which is designed to span genres from fashion to food to politics as it looks to capture the upscale male.
Women We Love and Best Bars In America will join other original programming on the network, including the currently-airing Knife Fight, Brew Dogs, The Getaway and Boundless as well as the upcoming Alternate Route, How I Rock It, Risky Listing and White Collar Brawlers.
