Erik Sommers
Community co-executive producer Erik Sommers has set up comedies at CBS and ABC.
The former Happy Endings writer/co-EP has reteamed with the canceled ABC comedy's co-creator David Caspe for Roommates, a comedy set up at CBS with a script plus penalty.
Sommers and Caspe will pen the script and executive produce the comedy that revolves around a successful and suave ladies man whose perfect life is turned upside down when a mess of a guy saves his life and immediately cashes in on his IOU by asking for a place to stay.

FanFare Productions' Jamie Tarses (Happy Endings)will executive produce the comedy for Sony Pictures Television, where the banner -- and Caspe -- are under overall deals.
Additionally, Sommers will write and executive produce an untitled emergency room comedy that landed at ABC with a script commitment. Olive Bridge Entertainment's Will Gluck and Richie Schwartz will executive produce the half-hour, which also hails from SPT -- where Olive Bridge is based.
The comedy revolves around a plucky young doctor who follows her dreams and begins working in the chaotic ER at an inner-city hospital, where she finds that the only people weirder than the patients are the doctors and nurses who treat them.
Sommers is currently a co-EP on Community who also served in the same capacity on Happy Endings and American Dad. Repped by UTA, his credits also include Drawn Together and Crank Yankers.
For his part, Caspe also has comedies Marry Me at NBC and Ball Street at Showtime in development. Tarses, meanwhile, has a comedy based on Rebecca Dana's memoir at Fox, How to be an Adult at ABC, ensemble comedy Thursdays at NBC; and Marry Me with Caspe.
Gluck's Olive Bridge has comedy Permanent Vacation, a Paul Scheer relationship comedy and a vacation comedy from Brian Gallivan at ABC as well as a gay-straight siblings comedy set up at NBC, among others.
