"Brooklyn Nine-Nine"
Fox is locking up freshman comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a full season.
The network on Friday picked up the Andy Samberg police comedy for a back-nine, bringing the total order for the rookie series to 22 episodes and pairing it with New Girl to air after Super Bowl XLVII in February.
"It's exciting to see that both critics and fans love Brooklyn Nine-Nine as much as we do," Fox Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly said. "With Andy and Andre [Braugher] out in front of this incredible ensemble, it feels like this show is going to be around for a long time."
Airing as part of the network's Tuesday comedy block, the Universal Television series is averaging a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 through five broadcasts and 4.9 million viewers. The series also has the third-highest concentration of upscale viewers ($100,000 or more) of any new series.
The comedy, which follows guy-themed rookie Dads, lifted Fox's averages among key male demos by 38 percent and 45 percent. The pairing marks a concerted effort by the network to lure male viewers to its Tuesday comedy lineup, which also includes female-skewing New Girl and The Mindy Project, the latter of which also hails from Universal Television.

Brooklyn is produced by Parks and Recreation duo Mike Schur and Dan Goor, whose NBC comedy ranks as its lone returning half-hour this fall. The pickup comes two weeks after Fox ordered additional scripts of the police satire, which premiered with a respectable 6 million total viewers and a 2.5 in the adults under 50 demo.
Brooklyn joins CBS' first-year comedies Mom, The Millers and The Crazy Ones as having received full-season orders this fall. Dads, meanwhile, still awaits word on its future, though Fox previously picked up six additional scripts for the comedy from Seth MacFarlane and the writers behind Ted. ABC for its part has yet to greenlight any of its rookie comedies, yet it has granted additional scripts for The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife.
Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz and Chelsea Peretti co-star.
