Tina Fey opened the “Saturday Night Live” season premiere with a monologue that mocked her lack of recurring characters during her nine years working on the show.
She then introduced the six new cast members and forced them to begin their “SNL” careers with an embarrassing dance routine.
And so the torch was passed.
