Larry King to Guest-Host ESPN’s ‘Olbermann’

Larry King will be taking over Keith Olbermann's desk for three nights next month.

The veteran anchor will fill in for Olbermann on his ESPN show from Oct. 1-3 while the host takes a weeks-long leave of absence to join TBS' postseason MLB coverage, the network said Thursday.

"Sports have always been my avocation -- they're part of my being," King said in a statement. "Having the chance to come back to my hometown of New York and host Keith's show for several days is a terrific joy for me and a return to my first love."

After Larry King Live on CNN ended in 2010, the TV personality has gone on to host a web show on Ora TV called Larry King Now

King is one of several familiar names filling in on Olbermann while the host is away from Sept. 30 to Oct 21. ESPN hosts Jeremy Schaap and Colin Cowherd will also take the reins hosting the show on Oct. 8-10 and 15-17, respectively.

Olbermann airs at 11 p.m. ET on weeknights.
