The ACN News Night team will be back for another season.
On Tuesday night, Jeff Daniels tweeted that The Newsroom was picked up by HBO. "It's official. #Newsroom coming back for a Season 3," the actor, who plays anchor Will McAvoy, wrote.
The second season premiere of the Aaron Sorkin-created HBO drama saw an uptick in viewers. It introduced a structure that included flashbacks and a season-long story arc surrounding a botched News Night segment that falsely accused the U.S. military of using chemical weapons.
Emily Mortimer, John Gallagher Jr., Dev Patel and Thomas Sadoski also feature in the show.
