Earlier this week in the Tambopata rainforest in Peru, a bat got a little too close to a cane toad. This is the result.

It was spotted by ranger Yufani Olaya at Cerros de Amotape National Park. Biologist Phil Torres thinks the bat was looking for insects close to the ground when it accidentally flew into the mouth of the toad.

It's a rare sighting, but not the first. This toad was also seen eating a bat in Brazil in 2003.
