Now, Louis-Dreyfus has won the award for which she received her record-breaking nod, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy for her work on Veep.
Louis-Dreyfus previously won Emmys for her work on Veep and The New Adventures of Old Christine, making the Seinfeld alum the only actress to win an award for three different comedy series. She's now the first actress to win two comedy awards for her work in an HBO series.
As Louis-Dreyfus stood onstage thanking her family, HBO, and her castmates, Veep's Tony Hale, who previously won Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy, stood behind her, seemingly waiting for her to thank him. She did not.
