The Big C's Jenny Bicks has sold her second comedy of the development season.
The showrunner on Showtime's recently concluded Laura Linney starrer has set up Works With Jerks at ABC, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Bob's Burgers siblings/writing duo Wendy and Lizzie Molyneux will pen the script and executive produce the comedy alongside Bicks, who will supervise the comedy.
Works With Jerks revolves around an ambitious yet often misguided woman, whose role models are Hillary Clinton and Yahoo's Marissa Mayer, who realizes she may have to rethink her professional strategy when she joins a company where she must work with all male employees.
STORY: Mermaid Comedy From 'The Big C' EP Lands at NBC
The comedy, which has received a script with significant penalty commitment from the network, hails from 20th Century Fox Television, where Bicks and the Molyneux sisters are under overall deals.
Wendy and Lizzie Molyneux have been with Bob's Burgers since the start. The animated comedy was renewed this week for a fifth season on Fox. Repped by WME and Kaplan/Perrone and Morris Yorn, the sisters recently shared in Bob's Burgers' Emmy nomination for outstanding animated program. Last year, the duo shot the ABC pilot presentation See You Next Tuesday, which also was produced by 20th Century Fox Television.
Before joining Bob's Burgers, to which they'll return to for season five, they wrote The Day I Turned Uncool for Paramount, as well as the Black List script My Sister Is Marrying a Douchebag.
For Bicks, Works With Jerks marks her second sale of the season. She also has a mermaid comedy set up at NBC, which she will write and exec produce. The sales come after Bravo opted to pass on Bicks' second attempt to bring a Heathers follow-up to the small screen.
Repped by UTA and attorney Ken Richman, Bicks most recently served as showrunner/EP on Showtime's The Big C, for which she earned a Golden Globe nomination.
