ABC Family, Jamie Lee Curtis Team for Horror Drama Project

ABC Family is trying its hand at the horror genre.

The cable network has inked a script deal for The Final Girls with Jamie Lee Curtis attached to star, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.

Hailing from writer Jeff Dixon, the project centers on a group of girls who have, in essence, survived, their own personal horror stories and are brought together by a mysterious older woman to channel the stress and scars of their experience for some greater good. Curtis would play the mysterious older woman.

Steve Miner will serve as executive producer and will direct the pilot, should ABC Family greenlight the project. This marks a reunion for Curtis and Miner, who directed the actress in 1998's Halloween H20.

The news comes as the cable network readies the debut of Pretty Little Little Liars spinoff Ravenswood on Oct. 22, and the returns of its scripted efforts, which include rookie dramas Twisted and The Fosters, Pretty Little Liars, Switched at Birth and upcoming series Chasing Life.

In late August, ABC Family greenlighted comedy pilots from Tori Spelling, Ashley Tisdale and Bunheads producers.

Curtis is repped by CAA. Gersh reps Miner, also repped by Luber Roklin, and Dixon.
