The pop star, whose “Applause” opening featured (deliberate) booing as part of the performance, was furious about the actual boos she heard when One Direction later took the stage to accept an award.

“I want to leave right now,” Gaga can be overhead telling the boy banders in footage from one of MTV’s live cams. “I don’t want to stay anymore because I don’t want to be in a room where people are booing.”

She added, “I just want to tell you that you deserve every bit of success that you have.”
