USA Network is preparing to explore the gray skies of marriage.
The cable network best known for its "Blue Skies" brand, has picked up to pilot a drama about marriage and infidelity from former Suits showrunner Sean Jablonski, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The untitled pilot revolves around investment banker Neil Truman and his wife, Grace, as they try to sift through their stagnant relationship looking for what whey once had. But when Neil discovers that Grace is seeing a male escort and accidentally gains possession of the escort's phone, he gains a unique perspective on his life and what motivates women. Meanwhile, Grace contemplates whether her needs are being met and whether her marriage is worth saving.
Jablonski -- who served as showrunner on the first season of USA's Suits before exiting ahead of its second run -- will write and executive produce the pilot alongside Community's Russ Krasnoff. Jablonski most recently serves as a co-EP on ABC's upcoming fall drama Betryal and developed React at TNT.
For USA, the Jablonski drama joins pilots Horizon from The Walking Dead EP Gale Anne Hurd and Bridget Tyler. Universal Cable Productions produces both projects.
The news comes as USA's newest drama, Graceland, marches toward its Sept. 12 freshman season finale. The Jeff Eastin (White Collar) series has been a sturdy performer for the cable network, averaging 2.3 million total viewers through its first 10 episodes.
Jablonski (Nip/Tuck, Law & Order) is repped by WME, Underground and attorney Diane F. Krausz.
The project comes as infidelity continues to be a hot topic on cable. HBO is prepping Open, a multi-character exploration of sexuality, monogamy and intimacy in relationships from Glee's Ryan Murphy. Showtime, for its part, is readying The Affair, a drama exploring two marriages and the affair that disrupts them. ABC's Betrayal, set for Sundays this fall, will also explore infidelity as it focuses on a woman who has an affair with an attorney going up against her husband.
