TBS has renewed summer offerings Sullivan & Son, Men at Work and unscripted entry Deal With It for additional seasons.
The Turner-owned cable network announced Tuesday that the two scripted comedies would return for third seasons and its Howie Mandel-produced rookie hidden-camera entry would be back for a second run.
"Sullivan & Son and Men At Work have really caught on with TBS' core viewers, and Deal With It has burst out of the gate as one of the summer's most popular new cable series," said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). "We are very excited to be expanding our relationship with the producers, cast members and production teams on these three series."
Sullivan, which will wrap up its second run on Aug. 22, will return for a third season of 13 episodes in summer 2014. Airing on Thursdays at 10 p.m., the comedy from Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsley and showrunnner Rob Long is averaging 2.4 million total viewers when factoring in DVR viewing. The Warner Horizon Television drama is pulling 1.3 million total viewers in the key adults 18-49 metric.
Workplace effort Men at Work will return with 10 episodes next summer. The multicamera comedy from Breckin Meyer, Jamie Tarses and Julia Franz averaged 1.9 million viewers and 1.2 million among adults 18-49.
Finally, unscripted vehicle Deal With It, hosted by Theo Von, will be back in 2014 with a 10-episode order. The series has averaged 2.3 million viewers when adding seven-day viewing, with 1.2 million among the key adults under 50 set. The series hails from Mandel's Alevy Productions and is based on the format from Keshet Broadcasting in association with Lionsgate TV.
TBS' renewals come as the network readies three new series during the second half of 2013. On Oct. 22, D.L. Hughley and Michael Ian Black will headline new game show Trust Me, I'm a Game Show Host, with late-night entry The Pete Holmes Show set for Oct. 28 as a companion for Conan. On Nov. 14, TBS will launch Bill Lawrence's new scripted comedy Ground Floor.
The comedies join previously renewed Cougar Town, which will return in 2014, as the network continues to build its comedy brand off the back of syndicated repeats of The Big Bang Theory.
