Simon Cowell’s former friend is unhappy the “X Factor” judge got his wife pregnant.
Andrew Silverman, whose wife Lauren had an affair with Cowell and is now carrying his baby, has taken the step of naming Cowell as a co-respondent in divorce papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, reports the New York Post.
New York is a no-fault divorce state, and Silverman’s move means he’s officially blaming the couple’s imminent split on Cowell’s adultery.
The filing means Cowell could be forced to testify on a witness stand or take a DNA test proving his paternity of Lauren Silverman’s unborn child.
In the documents, Andrew Silverman cites his now-estranged wife’s “cruel and inhuman treatment” of him, and says the marriage is being dissolved due to her “acts of adultery.”
The Silvermans have a 7-year-old son together, and Andrew is seeking sole custody.
