Simon Cowell, who dodged directly answering questions about his impending fatherhood when asked earlier this month, is now changing his tune and says he’s “proud” of becoming a dad.
At Tuesday’s London premiere of One Direction: This Is Us, Cowell publicly confirmed for the first time that he’s having a baby with Lauren Silverman.
He told the BBC, “Things are changing in my life right now, for the better,” adding, “I’m proud to be a dad.”
Cowell also called Silverman, who recently settled her divorce, a “very special girl,” and noted that while he previously hadn’t considered fatherhood, “now I know I feel good about it.”
