See Nirvana’s Original Record Contract With Sub Pop

The iconic band was signed for a mere $600.

From the official Tumblr of Sub Pop Records comes a copy of Nirvana’s very first contract, which would produce the band’s first album, Bleach (1989).

The names on the contract are for original band members Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, Chad Channing and Jason Everman (Dave Grohl would not join the band until late-1990).

The contract was for a two-year three-record deal -- along with a $600 (!) advance for band.

Sub Pop notes it was, “Six hundred bucks well spent—not that we had it at the time.”
