‘Girls’ Actress on the Move to Fox’s ‘Wayward Pines’

Girls actress Greta Lee is moving from the HBO comedy's New York setting to Fox's mysterious Wayward Pines.

The actress has booked a recurring guest starring role on the limited series from Chad Hodge (The Playboy Club) and M. Night Shyamalan, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The 10-episode drama is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Blake Crouch and is described as a thriller in the vein of Twin Peaks. The project revolves around Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon), a Secret Service agent who arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, Idaho, on a mission to find two missing federal agents. But instead of answers, Ethan's investigation only provokes more questions. Each step closer to the truth takes Ethan further from the life he knew, from the husband and father he was, until he must face the terrifying reality that he may never get out of Wayward Pines alive.

Lee will play Ruby, the barista at the only coffee shop in Wayward Pines. Not only is she a daily presence in everybody's morning, but she knows everyone's business.

She joins a cast that includes Terrence HowardHarry Potter's Toby JonesMelissa Leo, Carla Gugino and Shannyn Sossamon.

Lee is currently recurring as Soo Jin on HBO's Lena Dunham comedy and has been recurring on Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer. She'll next be seen in the feature St. Vincent de Van Nuys with Bill Murray. She's repped by Regarding Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman.

The Playboy Club's Hodge penned the script, with Shyamalan, Hodge, Donald De Line and Ashwin Rajan on board to executive produce the FX Productions effort. Fox landed the project, based on a spec from Hodge, after a competitive bidding situation. Fox will bow the 10-episode drama in 2014.
