Ed Helms-Produced Comedy Lands at ABC

Ed Helms has found his next small-screen gig.

The Office alum will executive produce a single-camera comedy for ABC, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The untitled comedy, which has received a script commitment from the network, hails from writer Mike Arnold (Archer) and centers on a gifted but dysfunctional big-city female attorney who moves to a small town and is faced with the difficult task of adjusting.

Arnold will executive produce the Universal Television and Pacific Electric Picture Co. comedy alongside Helms and Mike Falbo.

For Helms, the gig comes three months after NBC closed up The Office and reunites the Hangover star with the studio behind the workplace comedy.

Arnold is repped by CAA, Principato-Young and Stone Meyer. Helms is with CAA, Principato-Young and Schreck Rose.

Additionally, ABC has also given a script order to an untitled sisters comedy from My Name Is Earl writer-producer Danielle Sanchez-Witzel. The comedy revolves around two sisters, when a young woman’s life unravels, her younger sister takes her in, hoping to have a front-row seat to her perfect sister’s downfall. Sanchez-Witzel (Whitney, Love Bites) will write and executive produce the multicamera comedy from CBS Television Studios. She's repped by UTA and Jackoway Tyerman.
