Whose Big Brother game came to an end?
[Warning: Spoilers ahead from Thursday's live eviction episode.]
It's been an explosive few days in the Big Brother house. After Elissa Slater was crowned the new Head of Household and juror Judd Daughtery returned, things got testy when Aaryn Gries and McCrae Olson were nominated for eviction. With Amanda Zuckerman worried about her stake in the game, she made it her mission to win the Power of Veto to save herself and her ally, McCrae. Meanwhile, Elissa had a plan to backdoor Amanda. When Amanda won the veto, a plan was enacted to have ally, Andy Herren, not be seen as one of Amanda's partners in crime. Ultimately, it didn't work; after Amanda expectedly took McCrae off the block, Elissa went ahead and put up Andy in his place.

Following the veto ceremony, Amanda continued to ruffle Elissa's feathers and the houseguests began to notice. Even a new alliance was formed through their distaste for Amanda's continued bullying. Judd, Spencer Clawson, GinaMarie Zimmerman and Andy agreed to create an alliance, with Judd proposing The Exterminators as its name. Will it stick? With Aaryn desperate for votes, she did everything she could to garner two more votes (GinaMarie promised Aaryn her vote) — even going back to Amanda and McCrae as a last-ditch effort.
Dan Weighs In
Season 10 winner and season 14 runner-up Dan Gheesling appeared on the eviction show, weighing in on the current season. "What's Amanda doing?" he asked. "She's playing the game with a very mean stroke." From his perspective, he believed it is a glimpse into who she really is, whittling down her game play: "She's playing the game kind of like a brat," which received some loud cheers from the audience. Host Julie Chen brought asked about Dan's biggest blindsides (i.e. Shane, Frank and Danielle) from last season, he said, "Everyone's forgiven me at this point." When asked who Dan is rooting for: "I'm a huge fan of Judd," he revealed.

In another unanimous vote, Aaryn was evicted from the game. Because Aaryn is now a member of the jury, Chen was not able to discuss feedback the former houseguest received about her offensive remarks. But the host asked about Aaryn's racial slurs, even reading off several of Aaryn's offenses toward fellow houseguests, remarks that Aaryn defended — sort of.
"Being Southern, it’s a stereotype," Aaryn said to Chen. "If I have said some things that have been taken completely out of context and wrong ... I did not mean to ever come off racist.” The 22-year-old excused her actions, saying that "that's not me and I apologize to anyone I have offended."
"I don't remember saying those things," she said, referencing her Texas upbringing as a possible root cause. "That was not meant to be serious, and if I said those things … I feel horrible." Aaryn was speechless when it came to explaining the statements: "I don’t even know what else to say about that." Aaryn made it a point to say that she was friends with the houseguests she made offensive remarks about, notably Andy, Candice and Helen.
At the Chen's lengthy chat with Aaryn, perhaps the most anticipated of the season, Aaryn said she felt "horrible" about how shes being perceived and didn't "want to seem like that person." The audience was notably more vocal than in weeks past, with pointed boos and laughs, throughout Chen's interview with Aaryn.
The HOH Competition
The battle for the new HOH begins with an Easter-themed HOH competition, "Big Hopportunity," which tasks the houseguests to hop their way to collect a dozen eggs in their basket. The first person with 12 eggs in their basket wins. However, the houseguest with the least number of eggs at the end of the competition will be forced to wear a chicken suit, as voted on by the viewers, for the next 48 hours.
The new HOH is: GinaMarie.
Before the end of the episode, Chen teased a special competition during Sunday's episode, while another live double eviction will take place next Thursday.
