Reality Bites may be coming to the small-screen.
The 1994 cult comedy that gave a voice to Generation X's college graduates is being reimagined at NBC, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Helen Childress, who penned the screenplay for the romantic dramedy, is on board to pen the script for the reboot, which has landed a script commitment from the network. Ben Stiller, who made co-starred and made his directorial debut on the film, is attached to executive produce via his Red Hour banner.

Reality Bites 2.0 is based on the film and revolves around a recent college graduate named Lelaina Pierce as she struggles to find her way romantically and professionally in the recession-plagued pre-Internet early 1990s. Set in Houston, the show and Lelaina with her video camera, will chronicle the livles of her "slacker" friends with whom she shares an apartment.
Red Hour's Stiller, Debbie Liebling and Stuart Cornfeld will executive produce the Universal Television entry alongside Double Feature Films' Stacey Sher and Michael Shamberg, who also produced the Ethan Hawke/Winona Ryder/Janeane Garofalo/Steve Zahn starrer.
Ryder played Lelaina in the original film, which hailed from Universal Pictures and grossed $33 million worldwide.
