Whoopi Goldberg Developing Variety Show for NickMom

Whoopi Goldberg is expanding her talk show empire.

The View moderator is developing Lounge, a talk/variety series for Nick Jr.'s night-time comedy block for mothers, Nick Mom.

Goldberg will executive produce the project through her Whoop Inc. banner. The comedy will feature raw, honest and funny conversations between everyday moms who are given an opportunity to be pampered, celebrated and have their dreams come true.

Lounge is one of four projects the night-time comedy block announced it was putting into development Friday at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour in Beverly Hills.

Joining the Goldberg-produced venture is docu-comedy Country Mom, City Mom, from Relativity Real (Catfish). The effort follows funny mom Tanya McQueen(Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) as she splits her time raising her two teenage boys in small-town Texas and living in Los Angeles with her second husband and his children.

Undercover Cupid hails from The Man Show's Scott Stone and will see the hidden-camera entry follow single parents whose teen and young-adult children pick eligible dates for them.

Lastly, the untitled Vinnie Brand comedy hails from Entertainment One and will see comedian and father to five daughters Brand navigating what all the women in his life tell him to do. Jim Breuer will also exec produce.

NickMom is a primetime ad-supported comedy block for mothers airing daily from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. on Nick Jr. The block features a mix of original long- and shortform programming, including talk shows, stand-up and sketch comedy, scripted comedy and docuseries.

Should any of the four projects move forward, they would join a lineup that includes docu-comedy Take Me To Your Mother, talk variety show Parental Discretion With Stefanie Wilder-Taylor and stand-up comedy series NickMom Night Out which on Friday were renewed for additional seasons.
