Standing Ovation For Mariano Rivera Highlights All-Star Game

A memorable moment for the New York legend.

The 2013 All-Star Game belonged to the American League, as they walked away with a 3-0 victory, holding the American League to just three hits, but it will be remembered as "The Mariano Rivera All-Star Game."

The 43-year-old was called in for the eighth inning, and as Metallica's "Enter Sandman" echoed throughout the stadium, Rivera, who is retiring at the end of the season, was left alone on the field to bask in a standing ovation for 90 seconds.

Then, in typical Rivera fashion, he retired the side in a 1-2-3 inning, remaining perfect in his All-Star career with nine scoreless innings. The all-time saves leader was later honored with the MVP title, becoming the first reliever to do so.

Here's to you, Mariano Rivera. Thank you for being awesome.
