Renee Alway, a former “America’s Next Top Model” finalist, is in jail following a recent six-hour standoff with a SWAT team in Palm Springs, California.
Police had responded on June 28 to a report of a suspicious female lurking near a vacant residence.
When cops arrived on the scene, Alway, who’d been arrested twice earlier in the year, was found hiding with a firearm in the garage.
Officers believed an armed man was also hiding in the condo itself, leading to a prolonged standoff during which the SWAT team was called to sweep the premises — although no one else was found.
According to law enforcement authorities, Alway was arrested on charges including burglary, fraud, and possession of a controlled substance.
She’s still in custody on $150,000 bail, having also been charged with committing a felony while on bail.
