Paula Deen’s troubles continue.

A former Georgia resident was arrested on Friday for allegedly targeting the celebrity chef in an extortion plot.

According to the FBI, Thomas Paculis contacted Deen by email and phone last month, demanding he be paid $250,000 or he’d release to the media “true and damning” statements allegedly made by Deen.

Paculis reportedly claimed the alleged information “would bring hardship and financial ruin” to the already embattled TV personality.

Deen’s attorney alerted the FBI in Atlanta, and Paculis was taken into custody in New York.

He’s scheduled to appear in a Savannah, Georgia court on July 16.

The news comes on the heels of Deen severing ties with her longtime agent, getting fired from the Food Network, and losing endorsement deals with several companies in the wake of her admission to having used the N-word.
