Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s relationship is complicated.
That much is clear from the photo of himself and his on-and-off girlfriend that Bieber posted to his Instagram account on Friday (see right).
In the undated pic, the teen superstar sits next to a coyly smiling Gomez in what seems to be a plane or perhaps a van.

Bieber captioned the photo “#heartbreaker,” and though some may take that as a pointed description of his sometime-gal pal, it also happens to be the name of the singer’s upcoming single (see below).
Bieber and Gomez — who have split and seemingly reunited several times since last fall — are rumored to have spent the July Fourth holiday together, although that has not been confirmed.
