Jay-Z talks about fatherhood and daughter Blue Ivy in two new Samsung spots for his highly anticipated upcoming album “Magna Carta Holy Grail.”
The clips show the rapper sharing some thoughts with super-producer Rick Rubin about his songs “Jay-Z Blue” and “Heaven.”
He describes Blue Ivy as something he and Beyonce “created” and “still marvel” at, and then discusses how his own father left when he was young, before teaching him “how to be a man [or] how to raise a child.”
While talking about “Heaven,” Jay-Z says, “For me, my idea is heaven is in your daughter’s laughter… hell could be if your child is missing for three minutes, you’re in three minutes of hell.”
