Greg Grunberg, Diane Farr to Star in USA’s ‘Divide and Conquer’

USA Network has set the leads for one of its comedy pilot Divide & Conquer.

Greg Grunberg and Diane Farr will star in Divide & Conquer, the comedy pilot from the writer of Fairly Legal, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The pilot, which was ordered in May, revolves around a big family’s many members, including four children finding their way to adulthood in these complicated times and the parents Evan and Charlotte whose lives they're sucking dry to get there. It's being written and executive produced by Peter Ocko (The Office, Pushing Daisies), and will be produced by Universal Cable Productions.

Grunberg will play Evan, a daydreamer-turned-patent attorney who believes families today are over-parenting their children; Farr will play Charlotte, the stay-at-home mother who put her master's degree in psychology and career as a therapist on hold who disagrees with her husband's approach to parenting.

Grunberg's recent TV credits include ABC's David Shore pilot Doubt, Lifetime's The Client List, Heroes, Love Bites and episodes of USA's Psych. He's repped by ICM Partners, SC Management and Jackoway Tyerman.

Farr's credits include ABC Family's The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Private Practice, Californication, Numbers and Rescue Me. She's repped by UTA, Silver Lining Entertainment and Nelson Felker. The actress-writer was developing a comedy based on her book Kissing Outside the Lines at NBC. She's a frequent contributor to publications including Maxim, Glamour and Esquire, among others, and has a syndicated column for Tribune. Her first book, The Girl Code, was released in 2001 and is sold in seven countries and has been translated into five languages.

Divide is one of three comedies in the works at USA. It's joined by Denis Leary's Sirens and Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham's Playing House, which received series orders in May as the cable network looks to repeats of Modern Family to help launch its comedy brand.
