Discovery’s ‘Saint Hoods’ Sneak Peek: Alleged Whitey Bulger Accomplice Pat Nee Shuts Down Interview (Exclusive Video)

Pat Nee has been making headlines in recent days amid the murder trial for gangster James "Whitey" Bulger.

According to various reports, multiple witnesses have mentioned Nee -- famed for his battles with Bulger and their subsequent alliance -- during their testimony at the ongoing Bulger trial in connection with at least five killings, but he has not been charged in any of them.

Now, Nee is set to take on a new role: reality star. He will appear in Discovery Channel's upcoming Boston-based series Saint Hoods, debuting at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Friday, Aug. 2.

The series follows three of Boston's most powerful neighborhood crews -- Southie, Roslindale and Dorchester -- as they vie for customers in the lucrative business of sports gambling.  However, these businesses extend far beyond just taking bets.  The crews claim to offer loans, move merchandise and solve "neighborhood" problems on their own terms.

Nee runs Southie, the largest and most powerful crew in Boston, which looks to maintain their status quo, using their reputation -- and force -- to maintain order.

The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive clip from show's premiere, in which Nee bristles at a producer's question about Bulger -- and promptly shuts down the interview, telling Discovery's crew to leave.

Saint Hoods is produced for Discovery by MAK Pictures. Executive producers are Mark Kadin, Will Ehbrecht and Rob Dorfmann for MAK and Christo Doyle for Discovery. Meagan Davis produces.
