Chris Brown has apparently caused a major sponsor to pull out of an August 31 concert in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Rogers Communications was set to back the Energy Rush show until the controversial performer was added to the lineup.
After backlash erupted on Twitter, a spokesperson for the company announced that Rogers would no longer sponsor the event.
Responding to outraged customers expressing their discomfort with Brown being on the bill, the rep tweeted late Friday, “Rogers agreed to sponsor Energy Rush prior to Chris Brown’s choice as a performer… In light of today’s announcement, we’re withdrawing our sponsorship of the event.”
There’s been no response yet from Brown’s camp.
What do you think about Rogers’ decision?
