Additionally, Nat Geo has set the supporting cast for the telepic. Mary Pat Gleason (1600 Penn, Desperate Housewives) will play Oswald’s mother, Marguerite; Francis Guinan (Boss, Mike & Molly) is set as vice president Lyndon Baines Johnson; Boris McGiver (House of Cards) as suspicious FBI agent John Fain; and Jack Noseworthy (Event Horizon) will portray the president’s brother and trusted adviser Robert F. Kennedy.
The drama marks the latest adaptation from O'Reilly's collection of best-sellers, and comes four months after Killing Lincoln premiered to 3.4 million viewers. Production will begin in June in Richmond, Va., when Lowe and Goodwin are on hiatus from NBC's Parks and Recreation and ABC's Once Upon a Time, respectively. Like Killing Lincoln, Kennedy will be produced by Ridley Scott's Scott Free Productions. Nelson McCormick (The Good Wife, Southland) has been tapped to direct, with playwright and screenwriter Kelly Masterson penning the teleplay. The effort, which will tell the provocative story of Kennedy's last days, will run two hours, and is expected to premiere in 171 countries that carry NatGeo.
