‘Wilfred’s’ Randall Einhorn to Direct FX’s Tracy Morgan Comedy

FX is turning to a familiar face to direct its Tracy Morgan comedy pilot.

Wilfred's Randall Einhornhas been tapped to step behind the camera and helm Death Pact, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

FX ordered the half-hour comedy pilot in late May, featuring the 30 Rock alum as a formerly lazy, pot-dealing assistant high school coach who returns to his hometown as a decorated war hero. He runs across three down-on-their-luck friends and former students and sucks them into his new, radical self-help philosophy, which involves harsh consequences for failure.

Death Pact was co-created by Rob Long (Sullivan & Son, Cheers) and Tad Safran (The Long Weekend), who will write and exec produce the FX Productions entry alongside Eric and Kim Tannenbaum.

Einhorn, who inked an overall deal with FX Productions in November, has also directed and produced episodes of the cable network's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. His credits include Nurse Jackie, Shameless, Up All Night, Parks and Recreation and The Office.

He's repped by WME, Odenkirk Provissiero and Bloom Hergott.

FX recently tapped Harry Potter's David Yates to direct its drama pilot Tyrant, replacing Ang Lee.

The third season of Wilfred begins June 20 on FX.
