Carrie Underwood performed a moving tribute to the victims of the Oklahoma tornados on Wednesday’s CMT Music Awards.

The singer, who was born and raised in the state until she went on to “American Idol” fame, sang her touching track “See You Again” as images of the devastation played on screens behind her.

A choir group added even more emotional heft to the performance.

Last month, Underwood donated $1 million to the Red Cross for tornado relief.
