A new rumor spreading online claims Sarah Gadon is replacing Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 after Woodley’s scenes were dropped from the production earlier this week.
This is NOT true.
As Gossip Cop reported, the Watson character will not appear at all in the sequel to the 2012 hit starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.
It’s expected that Watson will be introduced in the third installment in the Spider-Man franchise.
Gadon has indeed joined Spider-Man 2 — but she’ll appear only briefly, and not as a main character, a studio source tells Gossip Cop.
Our insider says reports that have her replacing Woodley as Watson are “not true at all.”
