MAG: Jessica Simpson “Last Minute Decision” Leads to “Dramatic Delivery!”

Truth rating: 0

(OK!)

Jessica Simpson is the victim of yet another OK! cover story baby bait-and-switch, with the magazine once again trying to trick readers into thinking it scooped the world on the star giving birth.

Last year, the tabloid pretended to have “exclusive details” about Simpson’s “first days as a new mom” — weeks before she actually welcomed daughter Maxwell.

It was embarrassing — and now OK! is looking foolish once again.

On Wednesday, the magazine debuted an alarming cover story about “Jessica’s Dramatic Delivery!” and her “last-minute decision to give birth early.”

It’s billed as “BREAKING NEWS.”

It’s also totally misleading.

The story alleges that Simpson is “wracked with fear and anguish — terrified that she’ll lose the baby boy she was due to deliver by cesarean section” on August 3.

OK! claims that with fiance Eric Johnson’s support, Simpson has “made a last-minute decision to have the C-section two or three weeks ahead of schedule, convinced that the dramatic measure will save [the baby's] life.”

The supposedly “panicked” star has supposedly booked the birthing suite and operating room at Cedars-Sinai, says a mag “insider,” because Simpson is “very intuitive and she’s convinced that her baby needs to come sooner.”

OK! then goes into a very speculative discussion of medical scenarios that could lead expectant mothers to induce an early labor, and a completely pointless tangent about the birthing suite’s perks.

None of it is evidence that Simpson actually plans to move up her birth timetable — and it certainly is not the “breaking” and “dramatic” scenario advertised on the OK! cover.

It’s just bait-and-switch sensationalism from an outlet that frequently publishes wrong and mean-spirited tripe about a woman whose pregnancies it’s happy to exploit.
