Fat Joe was sentenced to four months in jail on Monday.
The rapper, whose real name is Joseph Cartagena, received the sentence in Newark federal court after pleading guilty to failure to pay income taxes on more than $1 million in 2007 and 2008.
While Fat Joe is a Miami Beach resident, he was prosecuted in New Jersey because he has companies incorporated in the state.
