DirecTV Renews ‘Rogue’ for Season 2

DirecTV is one-for-one in its original scripted offerings.

The satellite TV provider has renewed drama Rogue for a second season, the company announced Tuesday.

The drama, which stars Thandie Newton as an undercover detective searching for her son's killer, will begin production this summer for another 10-episode run -- set for 2014.

The series hails from creator Matthew Parkhill (The Caller) and producers Entertainment One and Greenroom Entertainment. It recently wrapped its first season on the Audience Network -- the same home that aired revived series Friday Night Lights and Damages.

"We are thrilled that our first venture into original programming resonated with our subscribers who enthusiastically tuned into Rouge each week,” said Chris Long, senior vp entertainment and production at DirecTV. “We look forward to bringing them another season of Rogue and the chance to experience the next chapter in Grace’s life.”

DirecTV also has its second original series currently in production in Neil LaBute's drama Full Circle, which wraps production this week. The drama features a roster of top talent including Bones' David Boreanaz, Private Practice's Kate Walsh and The Killing's Billy Campbell, among countless others.
