Desiree Confronts Brian About Having Girlfriend on The Bachelorette: Recap

(ABC)

It’s only the third episode of “The Bachelorette,” and Desiree Hartsock has already been played.

After a group dodgeball date, the bridal stylist receives a phone call from Chris Harrison, who alerts her that Brian has a girlfriend back home.

She confronts the slimy suitor — along with his girlfriend, Stephanie.

Hartsock says, “It takes some one with no character to come on a show for love knowing he has a girlfriend back home,” and sends him home immediately.

After the uncomfortable incident, the Bachelorette goes on a one-on-one date with Kasey.

The pair do “Bandaloop” dancing on the side of a skyscraper on Sunset Boulevard, using a special trapeze rigging to hold them up.

Afterwards, their romantic dinner gets interrupted with a windstorm, but Kasey still gets a rose.

The following day, Hartsock takes five guys on a group date, wherein the coordinator from The Lone Ranger teaches the men roping tricks and other cowboy skills.

Juan Pablo wins the stunt competition, and gets to watch the movie in a private room with Hartsock, during which the pair share a kiss.

But it’s James who receives the group date rose after he reveals to Hartsock he has a sick father he’s worried about at home.

The next day, Harrison announces that the usual cocktail party has been canceled, and that there will be a pool party instead.

Ben takes Hartsock on a drive before the bash, annoying the other guys, especially Mikey T., who confronts Ben for his sneaky ways.

Ben’s defense? The suitor tells the camera, “It’s called ‘The Bachelorette” for a reason. It’s not called ‘Let’s Make Friends.’”

Indeed.

Finally, it’s time for the rose ceremony.

Hartsock eliminates Brandon — after he just confessed he was falling in love with her at the pool party. The Bachelorette tells him they had no chemistry.

Dan also gets the boot.
