Chris Brown has been charged with a hit and run following a traffic incident last month.

Last month, the performer and Karrueche Tran were in his Range Rover when it rear-ended a Mercedes in Los Angeles.

There were no reported injuries, and authorities were not summoned to the scene, but Brown allegedly refused to give the other motorist his correct driver’s license number or insurance information, so the LAPD opened an investigation.

The L.A. City Attorney has now filed two criminal charges against Brown.

He reportedly faces counts of leaving the scene without exchanging proper information and driving without a valid license.

There’s a maximum of 6 months in jail for each offense, and the City Attorney’s office will reportedly refer the case to the District Attorney as a possible violation of Brown’s probation.

UPDATE: Brown just tweeted about the charges, writing, ”I have a valid drivers license and I gave the woman the right info. She saw cameras and wanted to make a scene.”
